Importance of rain in agrarian life

It is always special to me when I stay in my village to spend a rainy season. Unlike a dry season, rain always brings back the life of plants as well as it helps nature to keep well balanced. The rural ecosystem made a close and very deep connection among villagers, animal and other natural elements like trees, plants, rivers and so on. To villagers, this connection is very salient and holly as they believe it has given by Almighty God.

The village what I am talking about and staying in now, is specially an agrarian area. It is situated in south-west part of Bangladesh. Villagers mostly belong to subsistent type of economy as well as their prime occupation is farming. As they depend on agriculture, water is essential component in their productive action. Cultivation of plants is impossible here without huge source of water. Though people made some artificial sources building some deep tube oil machine in order to supply water but it is not so productive and easy to flood cultivating lands like rain. Farmers use these artificial sources of water only when they have no natural ways.  But when rainy season come, it is the time to produce staple crops as well as to utilize most of labor forces.
