GENDER IS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCTION

Gender is always important in every aspect of human life. As a group of social being, human could never be out of gender difference. Actually, gender categorizes and specifies social relations by constructing social identity. It also determines how each social being will act and behave to another. The conception of gender is not universal at all; rather it implies different characteristics and roles in various societies. It is indeed a social categorization among social beings.

In the most common patriarchal societies, gender plays very salient roles in ordering the position of men and women. Usually the concepts of gender in these societies develop influencing by patriarchal ideology. Therefore, it always acts in the favor of men instead of keeping equal position for both women and men. If we analyze critically, we will find it out that here is a strong politics of patriarchy to make women a subjugated group. Until we discuss any instance, it would not be clear that how as well as why gender reproduce socially practiced discrimination. In our society, for instance, it is presumed that women is not as productive as men who are working together, even when and where women are earning as well as contributing more than their men partners, but it is not recognized by the society because society insists to keep the dominant image of men not of women, here is the politics what we can discuss for.
