Going home couple of days ago I
knew some crucial information about a neighbor HSC student. The student obtained
talent pool scholarship both in class Five and Eight is now working as
president of a socially abominable as well as extremist political party. Many
cases, including vehicle burning are filed against him at the local police
station. He could not attend the HSC exam this year due to the cases. This
information made me so baffled and agog too. After a little inquiry I got such
clues which are not positive anyhow for the future of the country.
Here, my intention is to talk
about the impact of nasty politics on education sector of the country. Many
changes have been happening in this country for last several years, but most of
them are negative and have harmful influence. Specially students and young
generation are affected by these nasty practices. It is very much disappointing
that students are making plans how to burn vehicles, make hazards, chaos and
get a post of a party at the age when generally a student should thinks how to
make the best performance in examinations in order to build a bright career.
Getting admitted to the university, I started to look forward for a great dream, but very unexpectedly, I was victim of power practiced by political activists, denied from my rights and saw women friends and teachers to be teased, continuous oppression on progressive, free thinkers and so on. It was the time since then I begun to learn university is such a ‘converter machine’ where students come to be destroyed. Many incidents, including the atrocity happened with Bisshyojit Ghosh, the offense with JnU teacher Lubna Jabin and Pohela Boishakh scandal of DU are still fresh and alive in my memory which were done by all those so called meritorious belonging to a particular ruling party. Truly, the
This effect of nasty politics is
enough to disrupt the whole system of a nation. If it keeps wasting the talents, we will be empty of merit soon. It may not
far away!
